What is jacquard plush fabric?
Jacquard plush is a plush fabric whose pattern is built into the pile itself rather than printed onto the surface afterwards. The motif is created either by swapping two differently coloured pile yarns during knitting, or by varying the pile height across the design. Because of this the pattern is part of the fabric's structure, not a layer on top of it: it will not fade in the wash, will not rub off, and will not wear away in use. Our standard quality is 290-310 gsm, 160-170 cm wide, 100% polyester, with a minimum order of 50 kg per colour on stock patterns.

Glossary
Jacquard plush terminology
Jacquard
The mechanism that allows each needle on a knitting or weaving machine to be controlled individually, creating the pattern within the structure of the fabric.
Pile
The bundle of yarn standing up from the fabric surface. The softness and warmth of plush come from the length and density of the pile.
Repeat
The width and length over which a pattern repeats itself. The needle count of the machine limits the repeat width.
Double face
A construction with pile on the front and flat fleece on the back. Jacquard plush is double faced.
Anti-pilling
A finishing treatment that prevents fibre bobbling on the surface. Graded 1-5; 4-5 is good.
Tone-on-tone
A pattern formed in a single colour using only differences in pile height.
GSM
Grams per square metre — the weight of the fabric. Jacquard plush runs at 290-310 gsm.
A.TR
The movement certificate that allows duty-free passage of goods between Türkiye and the EU under the customs union.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between jacquard plush and printed plush?
On jacquard plush the pattern is formed within the pile during knitting; on printed plush dye is transferred onto the surface of finished fabric. Jacquard does not fade or rub off and can be felt by hand, while print allows unlimited colours and free design but softens over time.
What is the weight and width of jacquard plush?
Our standard quality is 290-310 gsm at 160-170 cm width, in 100% polyester.
What is the minimum order quantity?
50 kg per colour on stock patterns from our archive. If a design has to be set up specially for you, the minimum is 100 kg.
How long does a custom design take?
20-25 working days including machine set-up. On stock patterns, stock colours ship in 2-5 working days.
How many colours can a jacquard design have?
Two colours is the practical standard; three is assessed against the machine and the design. For more colours we recommend digital printing.
Can I have my own design produced?
Yes. Send the artwork and we will assess producibility and adapt it to the repeat size. A minimum of 100 kg and 20-25 working days apply.
How thin can a line be?
Because the pile is long, the thinnest line should be 8-10 mm. Designs needing finer detail come out sharper on jacquard welsoft or in print.
Do you send samples?
Yes, we send free samples before production. On custom designs we also submit a photograph of the first metres off the machine for approval.
Can jacquard plush be used for baby products?
Yes. Our dyeing runs through a dyehouse certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I, the strictest class, defined for articles in contact with baby skin. For baby products an anti-pilling finish should also be specified.
Which certifications do you hold?
GOTS, BCI and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I. We do not hold GRS and we make no claim to it.
Will the pattern fade or shed in the wash?
No. The pattern is part of the knitted structure rather than a layer of dye, so it does not fade in the wash, wear away through abrasion or shed in use.
How should it be washed?
At 30 °C, inside out, on a low spin. Do not use fabric softener — it mats the pile. Do not tumble dry hot.
How long does delivery to Europe take?
3-7 days to EU countries with an A.TR certificate. For Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Morocco and Egypt a EUR.1 certificate is issued.
Do you have a colour card?
You can select from the colour card for stock shades. For a specific colour we work to Pantone or RAL references; custom colour takes 10-15 working days.
